EN 1276 2009 Certified

As of 2009, CerarMist products (certified under another propriety name), have subjected to a Quatitative Microbiological Evaluation to determine the antimicrobial efficacy of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics in accordance with the European standard, NF EN 1276

Chemical Disinfectants Bacterial Activity

Bactericidal or antimicrobial products such as disinfectants and antiseptics are used in industrial, domestic and institutional areas. These products are developed to inhibit and fight against various populations of microorganisms in a range of products including food, cosmetics, healthcare, medical devices, home and personal care. Evaluation of their bactericidal activity is important to ensure product quality and efficacy.

Interek's specialist microbiology laboratories offer testing accordance with the EN 1276 European Standard for evaluation of bactericidal efficacy of disinfecting liquids. The EN 1276 Standard describes a Quantitative suspension test for the assessment of bactericidal activity of chemical antiseptics and disinfectants (Testings method and instructions (phase 2, step 1)). This test methods evaluates how effectively the product to cause a reduction in the number of viable bacterial cells of the relevant test microorganisms. This approach can be applied to both the formulated product or the bactericidal active ingredient.
